Hi, Iām Dr. nick
Nicholas DiReda, Ph.D. completed his doctoral research in the department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering with concentrations in thermodynamics and immunology at Cornell University. He is also a Certified Nutrition Coach, CrossFit Level-2 Trainer, previous D1 golfer, and regenerative rancher in the making.
During my PhD, I focused on applying the fundamentals of thermodynamics to both machines and humans. Long story short, I struggled with autoimmunity for years and finally realized the current medical system is not built to identify the root cause of chronic disease. I became obsessed, and decided to dedicate the rest of my life to helping people understand the fundamental science that governs the way we operate every day.
The skills to mitigate my autoimmunity came from a blend of standard academic coursework, working closely with osteopathic and functional clinicians, and coursework in functional immunology from various institutes. Above all, I discovered a passion for understanding how our environment, genetics, dietary choices, and lifestyle habits can fan or quench the flames inside of us. My goal is to spark curiosity in people who are suffering and instill in them the fortitude to become the leader of their own health.
My Approach
The human body functions as a multifaceted thermodynamic system, converting energy across various forms. At its most fundamental level, physiological processes are governed by interactions with light, water, and magnetism. Translating these principles into actionable insights for daily life presents a challenge. My method involves deconstructing the body into a decentralized set of systems, each influenced by the others. By optimizing the function of these systems, I was able to achieve clinical remission in my rapidly advancing autoimmunity.
